Warm Welcome returns for the winter

Last year the Warm Welcome programme at provided a warm space, a warm meal and a warm welcome to over 2000 people. This year the Community Centre will bring back extra activities with warm food for older and vulnerable adults and for families.

Hexham Community Centre celebrates 125 years at the heart of the community

On September 22nd 1899 the Abbey Institute was commissioned in the building that has been known as Hexham Community Centre since 1937. This autumn and winter the Community Centre will take inspiration from this anniversary to celebrate what community means to the people of Hexham.

Community Centre secures huge funding boost for Warm Welcome

Hexham Community Centre are delighted to announce that they have received a significant funding boost from the Government’s Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund, delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund. This funding will ensure that the region’s largest community centre can deliver their Warm Welcome this winter, meaning that anyone who needs a warm place, a warm meal or a warm welcome will find it at the Community Centre.
