Hexham Community Centre is a great choice for your child's birthday party with our central location, excellent facilities and newly refurbished hall.
What is included?
Children's parties are hosted in the Stan Batey Hall on the Lower Ground Floor. You will get use of the space for 3 hours, this includes set up and pack down so we normally recommend a 2-hour party with half an hour either side.
You will also have use of the kitchen that joins onto the hall via a serving hatch and there are toilets in close proximity to the hall.
We will set up trestle tables and chairs for you to use if requested.
What is not included?
We leave the decorating and entertainments up to you, you will also need to provide food and tableware if you're having a party tea.
How many children can I invite?
We recommend that if adults are likely to stay for the party then a capacity of around 25 children is appropriate.

Hexham Community Centre Playgroup is nestled in our beautiful Community Centre building on Gilesgate, opposite Bouchon, just a short walk from the marketplace and Hexham Abbey.
Access & Parking
With excellent parking next to our building, and only a 5 minutes’ walk from Hexham’s train and bus stations, we are ideally placed for families living in the Hexham area.
Hall availability
During term time we can offer parties on Saturdays and Sundays. During the school holidays we may also be able to host you on a weekday. Contact us for availability and price.
- Saturday Morning: 9.30am - 12.30pm (for a 10-12 party)
- Saturday Afternoon: 2.30pm - 5.30pm (for a 3-5 party)
- Sunday Afternoon: 2.00pm - 5pm (for a 2.30 - 4.30 party)
Hire Fees
£50 for 3 hours (£15 for each additional hour if needed)
A £20 deposit is payable to secure the booking, then pay the balance on the day.
