Cake Fest Hexham
Our ever popular Hexham Cake Fest is nearly here! Come and see your favourite Hexham landmarks made out of CAKE, wander through our edible map of Hexham, and enjoy your very own tasty slice of Hexham later in the day.
If you love cake, you'll love this event!
Every year, bakers of Hexhamshire join together to create cakes in the shape of Hexham landmarks. In recent years we've seen Hexham Abbey, the Moot Hall, Hexham Community Centre, Egger, the Sele Park and even our beloved Bandstand made out of cake!
The landmarks are displayed as in interactive edible map, judged by popular vote, then cut up and eaten in a frenzy of confectionary scoffing at the end of the day.
And that's not all. There will be lots more fun to be had;
- Performances from local groups
- Workshops - come and create a small item for the edible map
Calling all Bakers
We welcome entries from any local bakers, whether you are a professional, amatuer or a first-time baker.
Entry is free.
So you want to enter?
Please let us know what landmark you would like to enter BEFORE baking. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to register your spot on the map.
We only allow one entry for each landmark so that we don't end up with 5 Hexham Abbeys.
Spots on the map are in high demand so be sure to register your preferred landmark early, to avoid disappointment.
We kindly ask that you adhere to the following guidelines before you bake your cake.
- Cakes must be smaller than 1 meter in any direction.
- Cakes must be homemade.
- No nuts please.
On the day
Bring cakes along by 9:15 am on the day of the event.
We’ll ask you to fill in a registration form with the name of the cake and your details.
£3 per person
Tickets and workshop places are sold on the day, on a first come, first served basis.
